Talk food helps us grow healthy about how and strong. There is no need to add sugar, salt, honey, butter or
margarine to food for babies and kids.

Healthy Foods For Kids Health 1-5 Years

‘Everyday foods’ include:

1.plenty of vegetables, beans and lentils
2.Fruit
3.breads, cereals, rice, pasta, noodles (mostly
wholegrain), and other grains like oats and barley
4.milk, yogurt and cheese (mostly reduced fat for
kids over 2 years)
5.lean meat such as kangaroo, fish, chicken (without  skin), eggs, beans and nuts (but not whole nuts for  kids under 3 years).

Good breakfast food & snacks

1.Healthy wholegrain cereals such as wheat
2.biscuits and porridge.
3.Yoghurt and fruit.
4.Baked beans on wholegrain toast.
5.Toast with cheese.
6.Boiled or scrambled eggs.
7.Pikelets with yogurt and fruit.
as snacks:
1.Wholegrain bread and cereals.
2.Chopped up fruit and vegies.
3.Yoghurt.
4.Raisin toast.
5.Cheese cut into sticks.

Sometimes foods are :

1. Chocolate, lollies, biscuits and chips
2. Pastries, pies and sausage rolls
3. fried foods like chicken and hot chips
4. takeaway and junk food
5. cakes and ice cream
6. juice, soft drinks, cordial and other sweet drinks.

‘Sometimes foods’ are high in fat, sugar and salt and  are not needed. They can lead to tooth decay and weight gain and leave less room for healthy foods. Limit sometimes foods to kids. Tell kids they can only  have sometimes foods on one day of the week, and in small amounts.
